Permission to reproduce/publish

Use this form to request permission to publish items from the Library's collection. You do not need to request permission to use items that are out of copyright.

It is your responsibility to check the copyright status of material and be aware of current copyright law and applications. The Library will not be responsible for any costs or claims for infringement of copyright in relation to copies of images supplied to you.

To ensure that items being reproduced can be identified, cite the artist/author, title and call number.

All material must be credited to the State Library of NSW.

For high resolution copies, you need to submit the Ordering digital images and archival prints form.

Please lodge a copy of any publication in which the image appears with the State Library of NSW.

Please provide:

  • Title
  • Artist/author
  • Call number or other identifier

You may request up to 10 items.

If you need to request permission for more than 10 items, please include these as an attachment. Attachments must be typed. Attachments are limited to: 20 MB maximum and 5 attachments per request.
